The Finishing Touches

If splashes are included in the job, DCD installers will apply caulking to the base of the splash where the splash and countertop meet. They will also apply caulking on the top of the splash where it meets the wall.

The countertops are cleaned and sealed (Only natural stone is sealed. Quartz, also called engineered stone, does not require sealing).

The installation crew will insure that the doors and drawers open. It is standard procedure for the doors and drawers to be adjusted and the hardware installed by others after the countertops are installed.

It is not possible for the countertop to cause one door or drawer to rub on the countertop while the neighboring door or drawer operates correctly.
That condition is always a door or drawer adjustment.

If doors or drawers do not open properly and there is no cabinet adjustment available, the countertops can be shimmed slightly to overcome some cabinet issues.

The onsite person is asked to inspect and approve every aspect of the installation when complete.
